This solid bronze tortoise was created using fallen bark and twigs from a Cottonwood tree. He is meticulously sculpted to retain as much of the beautiful texture and detail as possible from the natural materials. This sculpture is two pieces, with a hidden compartment beneath the shell to hide something special. The entire piece is patinated and polished to bring out the color of the bronze. The belly is hallmarked with my XF maker's mark.
Please see photos for scale- the compartment is small (about an inch wide), but capable of holding petite pieces of jewelry. I don't recommend it for men's rings or larger pieces of jewelry. Feel free to message me if you have questions!
